This is my first time blogging. I feel as if I am not the only woman out there who is on a journey. We are all on a journey of one kind or another. Mine...well it started about a year ago and I am happy I am where I am today and I have decided to share it with you.
After battling weight issues for years and never really remembering a time where I was comfortable with my body I decided it was time for a change. I met an amazing man, who I am still happily with today, and he introduced me to a new way of thinking. A way of leading a natural life while still trying to survive the chemical ridden world we call home. After I did independent research on products I was using on a daily basis, I was finally awakened. Everything fell into place. Everything made sense to me, finally. Whether it was the shampoo I was using, food I was buying, soap I was using, or cleaning products. Every single one of them was deteriorating my health, slowly but surely and it is doing the very same to the nation. I learned very quickly, while trying to inform others of my findings, that I live in a society where ignorance is bliss. People would wave me off or say 'everything does that, you can't get away from things that harm you so why care?' I do care and many others do and yes there is a way to lead a life that is not centered around prominently chemical products. I thought it was weird when I first met the man, who I now call my soul-mate, and the first thing he did when he came into my apartment was open all my cupboards and go through my trash. No, it was not just weird to me, it was downright creepy. I was speechless and the only words I could muster out was 'can I help you?'. He said no, smiled then went to sit on my couch. I have never seen that but I now know why he did it. He was seeing if I was like the majority of society. Not fully knowing what I was eating and my current state of health. When I am at someone's house now, I do not go through their kitchen but if I am with them in the kitchen and see them use something, such as a box of crackers or a bowl of dip, I cannot help but grab it and look at the ingredient list. I have learned that most people don't want to hear me talk about what they are eating, but I still sometimes say something. Even if they wave me off, I know I planted a small seed in their head and I can only hope it sprouts.
After knowing all that I do now, I cannot just keep it to myself, I feel as if I must help to get the word out there like many others are doing right now. I follow many women who have inspired me and indirectly helped me transition my lifestyle, such as Wellness Mama, Mama Natural, Mommy Potamus, and Food Babe. We are the generation who needs to start the revolution. The food and medicine industries are taking advantage of us all. They have NO REGARD for us, our well being, or our lives. There are many business' out there who are credible and do provide food that is chemical, preservative, toxin, pesticide, herbicide, insecticide, FREE. To live this life, you must do work to know the facts. The true facts are not in plain sight. You must dig and fight for the right of knowledge.
This blog will take you with me as I continue my journey. I will do a variety of research blogs, share recipes from food to homemade toothpaste. I am not perfect and neither is anybody. I am not here to become 'internet famous', but I am here to help get the word out and connect with others who are on a similar journey as mine. Together we can change the way America lives, because something needs to change now.
With sincere love,
-Crunchy K
